On Thursday September 28th, OCU hosted Co-Authors Thomas H. McCall, our own Caleb T. Friedeman, and Matt T. Friedeman for a Theological Symposium to discuss their new release from Baker Academic, The Doctrine of Good Works: Reclaiming a Neglected Protestant Teaching.
Dr. McCall spoke about the Protestant doctrine of good works bequeathed to us through the Lutheran, Reformed and Anglican traditions in the post-Reformation scholastic period, Dr. Caleb Friedeman dealt with the Biblical data relating to good works, and Dr. Matt Friedeman helped give us a vision of how the doctrine of good works is lived out in 21st Century America. The lectures were followed by a period of question and answer presided over by our President Dr. Ron Smith. Many thanks to these distinguished scholars for being our guides as we wrestled with this important doctrine.
